MEET DAWN
A CHAMPION OF PUBLIC EDUCATION
It is my honor to be running for re-election as the 8th District Representative on the Richmond City School Board this November. While COVID-19 may have changed the way I campaign, it will not change my commitment and effort to serving all of the students of the 8th District. Please note the information included and feel free to contact me directly if I may be able to answer any questions or be of any assistance to you.
As I continue to make improvements for our children in Richmond Public Schools, I welcome you to join me on this mission. As we commit to make a difference and help our students reach their goals, I am once again asking for your support. I will continue to advocate for a high quality education that will prepare our children to be college and career ready. Being a strong advocate of vocational education, I believe all students should be prepared for and provided opportunities for life after graduation. I will be your voice to demand a quality education because it is the “great equalizer” to ensure an inclusive learning environment. In addition, I will support strategies that will mandate improving the graduation rate.
During my tenure on the School Board, we were able to achieve 100% Full Accreditation in 2009-2010. Also during my previous service as the RPS Board Vice-Chair (2010, 2011) and Chair (2012, 2017-19), we were able to accomplish several goals such as SEVEN new buildings, including Broad Rock, Oak Grove/Bellemeade Elementary Schools, Huguenot High School, and River City (Elkhardt) Middle School. The opening of the two new elementary schools in the 8th District enabled the School Board to approve a 2012 district-wide rezoning for the elementary schools that balanced enrollment.

As an experienced leader, understanding of the need to keep our students physically engaged, I was instrumental in putting forth tireless efforts to improve the Athletic programs through the VHSL by realigning the Central Region and creating the Athletic Turnaround Initiative.

The stakes are too high for us to turn back now. The 8th District deserves leadership they can trust. ON NOVEMBER 3rd, 2020, I AM ASKING FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND YOUR VOTE TO RE-ELECT ME, DAWN C. PAGE, TO RICHMOND CITY SCHOOL BOARD.
